NCACPA just learned of a spam email sent to some AICPA members. Here is the message we received:
Dear Peer Review Administrators,
We were recently notified that the spam email shown below was sent to some AICPA members. We do not know how many members received the email. The AICPA IT Team is currently investigating.
If you receive phone calls from your firms or reviewers, please advise them not to click on the link and to delete the message. You can point out that the email address domain is not an actual AICPA mailbox (it has two i’s instead of one).
If your firms or reviewers would like to speak with someone at the AICPA, please direct them to Member Services at 888.777.7077.
