NCACPA joins the AICPA in thinking about those who have been affected by the flooding in Louisiana. To help mitigate potential damages and lessen the financial blow of this disaster, the AICPA, American Red Cross, and National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) provides the Disaster and Financial Planning: A Guide for Preparedness and Recovery. This guide, written for consumers, is also a useful tool for CPAs to counsel individuals on what steps to take to reduce a catastrophe’s financial impact.
Additionally, the AICPA’s 360 Degrees of Financial Literacy program provides resources, including those on business continuity insurance and natural disaster planning for small businesses.
