Topics to be covered include: Financial guidelines for buying your first home, how much should you have in savings, how much house can you afford, when is it better to rent versus buy, what types of loans are available, what is the loan process like, what kind of information do you need to get a loan, what kind of house should you look for, what to avoid in your first house, what to be aware of when house shopping, and how does a realtor help you?

About the speakers:
Ed Fulbright, CPA, PFS is the Chairman/CEO of Two CPA Firms, Fulbright & Fulbright, CPA, PA and Fulbright Financial Consulting, PA. Both firms are focused on getting your money to give you a better return on your life. He is the host and producer of “Mastering Your Money” Radio Show heard locally every Sunday evening at 6pm on 90.7FM WNCU and thru the internet at www.wncu.org. It can also be heard on five other stations across the country. Since 1986, Ed has taught clients to have a choice of working or not with his four step process. He is a 20 plus year veteran of the financial services industry and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), holding the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation.
Matt Gallagher is passionate about saving people money and protecting them from the unscrupulous practices he sees in the industry. Matt’s mantra is every mortgage decision can be quantified so there is no reason to fall prey to a sales pitch. Toward this end he has created proprietary analyses for the most common mortgage situations, and if he doesn’t have an analysis already, he will create one. Matt has travelled the country working with and teaching wealth managers for 19-years and in 2023 his Mortgage Analysis for Wealth Managers was approved for 1-hour of Certified Financial Planner continuing education.
Millicent Williams has been an active and top producing real estate agent in the Triangle area for 16 years. She is currently affiliated with Coldwell Banker Howard Perry Walston. Real estate became her career of choice after spending a number of years at home with her four children. Millicent graduated magna cum laude from N.C. State University in 1990 majoring in Accounting. She started her career in public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers and spent several years working as an auditor. Working as a Realtor, Millicent has helped over 300 families buy and sell their primary homes. Her real estate work has also included assisting with new construction, making land acquisitions and sales and investment purchases. She has mentored at least a dozen other real estate agents starting in the field. Millicent approaches her work with enthusiasm, professionalism and commitment to helping her clients achieve a most important goal of home ownership.
