Mastering the Art of the Restart
#Resilience #Reframing #Restarting
Be inspired to grow, improve, and press through where breakthrough is needed; as you enjoy the energy and fun created by Monica in this memorable keynote on this critical topic.
WHY IT MATTERS
Let’s get back to the basics of making progress beyond set-backs and problems! We are only as resilient as our perspective of failures. The way we frame our past will determine how we paint our future. We must keep getting back up, keep showing up for ourselves and others!
THE CYCLE OF PROGRESS
- Problem: Problems are our greatest opportunities for progress.
- Pause: Pausing to calm our breathe, so we can listen to understand core issues is crucial to progress.
- Perspective: Setting our sights on what matters most is the start of meaningful and lasting progress.
- Plan: Thoughtfully planning protects us from mindless racing and wasted efforts.
- Practice: Practice doesn’t make perfect, it makes progress. If we want to make progress, improvements must be systemized into a practice.
- Persistence: This is the place in the process of progress where most people quit, but decidedly resilient ones persist.
- Progress: The point when a plan or project is realized!
SHAPING SOLUTIONS
Resistance trains our strength; see struggles for what they are (strength training) and resilience will dramatically improve. Persistence leads to growth; every step of the process IS progress. Determine your next right step, and take it. Progress is on the other side of your Restart! Determine where you need to begin again.

Unlocking Fearless Inclusion
In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, fostering genuine inclusion is crucial for organizational success. Fearless Inclusion centers on two key principles: bravery—the confidence to unapologetically be yourself, and safety—the ability to create space for others to do the same. While this may sound simple, achieving it requires confidence, self-awareness, and a sense of agency.
This session delves into the practice of Fearless Inclusion, with a special focus on professional women in leadership roles. Often, self-determination and empowerment are misinterpreted as bossiness or selfishness, especially for women in male-dominated fields. We will examine the factors that undermine confidence and agency, explore societal and workplace norms that reinforce these gaps, and identify strategies to counteract them. Additionally, we will discuss the role of self-awareness in navigating these challenges and boosting confidence, as well as the importance of setting healthy boundaries to protect well-being.
Participants will leave the session with practical, actionable strategies to build self-awareness, a sense of agency, and empowerment. By understanding and challenging existing norms, participants will be equipped to redefine their personal and professional boundaries, build confidence, maintain a healthy balance, protect their well-being, and create space for others to do the same.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify factors that undermine confidence and agency in professional settings.
- Discuss how bias and workplace norms can undermine confidence.
- Explore strategies to boost self-awareness and develop a sense of agency.

Rethinking Professionalism: Developing Your Authentic Leadership Voice
We are told to be professional. But what does that mean? And who gets to decide? The traditional view of professionalism is harmful and perpetuates bias in the workplace. We end up communicating in ways that aren’t natural for us, we climb the ladder we didn’t design, all while feeling overwhelmed, underutilized, and unsatisfied with our work. But putting your head down and working hard is not what gets you the promotion or credibility you deserve. We must effectively communicate Up, Out, Down, and Inward in order to be seen and valued as effective leaders. By discovering your authentic leadership voice, you will build trust, get work done faster, and with more satisfaction and ease.
Key Takeaways:
- How to get visibility for your work and your team without bragging
- Why working harder is keeping you stuck
- How to set and hold your boundaries
- Steps to go from busy to productive
- Define what your version of success looks like
