New Pathway to CPA Licensure Now Law in North Carolina

NCACPA is proud to share that North Carolina has officially adopted legislation creating an additional pathway to CPA licensure. Under this new law, candidates can become licensed upon completion of a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting, two years of work experience under the supervision of a licensed CPA, and passage of the Uniform CPA Exam. This significant milestone—championed by NCACPA and supported by members across the state—aims to expand access to the profession, strengthen the CPA pipeline, and ensure the future vitality of North Carolina’s accounting workforce.
