NCACPA has formally launched a strategic organizational restructure aimed at amplifying its advocacy work, deepening relationships across the profession, and accelerating its ability to deliver timely, tailored solutions for members. The changes—planned and implemented over the course of several months—reflect NCACPA’s ongoing transformation under CEO Mark Soticheck’s leadership. The structure, now in full effect as of May 2025, is aligned to support the organization’s new strategic roadmap and ensure long-term sustainability, relevance, and agility.
“This restructuring effort was not simply about shifting boxes on a chart—it’s about building an organization that reflects the complexity and dynamism of the profession we serve,” said Mark Soticheck, CEO of NCACPA. “We set out to intentionally support the strategic direction of NCACPA while creating the conditions for a more agile, adaptable team. Our focus is on delivering meaningful solutions, building strong connections, and anticipating the challenges our members face—not just today, but in the future.”
Key Restructure Highlights
- Integrated Advocacy & Outreach Division: NCACPA has appointed Robert Broome, CAE, as Vice President of Advocacy and Outreach, a newly expanded leadership role responsible for legislative advocacy, marketing and communications, and stakeholder relationships and events. This alignment creates a seamless connection between policy influence, messaging, and relationship building.
- Elevated Focus on Outreach & Connection: The restructure devotes additional resources to outreach across public accounting, business and industry, academia, and the student pipeline. By aligning relationship-building with NCACPA’s engagement and event strategies, the organization aims to grow and diversify its base of members and customers.
- Creation of a Solutions-Focused Team: Under the leadership of a yet-to-be-named Vice President of Information and Innovation, NCACPA has launched a cross-functional team focused on developing member-centric products, identifying reputable third-party partners, and managing strategic vendor relationships. Solutions will target five core pillars critical to members’ success: technology, talent, strategy, governance, and culture.
- Unified Member Support through Solutions Support: Two existing support teams—Experience Support and Online Learning Support—have merged to form a single, cross-trained Solutions Support team. This unified team will provide concierge-style service across learning, membership, and product support, improving consistency and internal knowledge sharing.
- Fostering Internal Innovation and Sustainability: The restructured model promotes greater collaboration across departments, improved integration of business data and technology, and a focus on scalable solutions that enhance NCACPA’s long-term sustainability and impact.
“These shifts are already creating momentum,” added Soticheck. “We’re seeing stronger internal collaboration, clearer accountability, and greater alignment with the real-world challenges our members face. This is about building a future-ready NCACPA.” The changes support NCACPA’s broader commitment to serving as a catalyst for the profession’s growth, resilience, and relevance across North Carolina and beyond.
