Per our recent update regarding follow-up letters the NC Department of Revenue will be sending to individuals who erroneously received extension denials due to late mail deliveries, the department specifically pointed out today they will be sending these letters only to the taxpayers who originally received the denial letters in error, and not to the preparers. NCACPA had previously requested this information be sent to both parties, but the department reports their current system won’t allow that to take place. As we previously relayed, the department continues to work on this process and hopes to send the letters out later this week.
