NCACPA CEO Mark Soticheck II, CPA, CGMA, is chairing the AICPA side of a joint NASBA-AICPA task force behind a new national study, and NCACPA members are invited to take part.
The survey, launching September 10, will gather input from CPAs across the country on how they maintain and develop professional knowledge and skills, how well current CPE requirements support meaningful learning, and what a future CPE framework should prioritize.
Why It Matters
As the accounting profession continues to evolve, so must the framework that supports lifelong learning within it. This national effort, conducted by an independent research firm on behalf of the task force, is designed to bring real data, not assumptions, to that conversation. Broad participation from CPAs in every role, practice setting, and career stage will help ensure the results reflect the profession as it actually is today.
Soticheck’s leadership on the task force gives NCACPA a direct seat at the table as this framework takes shape, and a first look at what may come next for CPE requirements nationwide.
How to Participate
NCACPA members can complete the survey between September 10 and September 30, 2026. It takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, and all responses are anonymous and reported only in aggregate. No identifying information is shared with NASBA, AICPA, state boards of accountancy, the task force, or NCACPA.
