On July 24, former NCACPA Board of Directors member, Art Winstead, Jr., was sworn in to a three-year term on the NC State Board of CPA Examiners. Art has been a long-time engaged member of NCACPA serving in numerous roles, in addition to the board, to include the Peer Review and Accounting & Attestation Committees.
Art is a native of Greensboro, NC, and is a partner at Davenport Marvin Joyce & Co., PLLC, where he started in 1978.
Art replaced Murchison (“Bo”) Biggs, whose three-year term expired as of June 30. Bo is also a former member of the NCACPA board, and has been, and continues to be, actively involved in supporting the advocacy efforts of NCACPA.
“Each year NCACPA is asked to recommend candidates for appointments to the NC State Board. We are excited to say Art Winstead, Jr., was one of our candidates for consideration, and we are confident he will represent the profession well in his new role,” adds Sharon Bryson, CEO of NCACPA.
