In preparation for the 2019 Professional Women’s Conference on November 4, Secretary of the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Susi Hamilton, reminds us of to celebrate the accomplishments of both past and current women in the profession—and there are many women (and milestones) to recognize!
As NCACPA celebrates our 100-year anniversary, we’re excited to soon have the opportunity to commemorate another remarkable centennial, the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which guaranteed and protected women’s constitutional right to vote. While this amendment was a major accomplishment for women, it did not grant voting rights to all women. The battle for equality prevails to this day.
The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (NCDCR) created the initiative, “She Changed the World: NC Women Breaking Barriers,” to celebrate the achievements of North Carolina women and explore the diversity of their experiences and impact on our history. NCDCR invites you to share your story with #SheChangedtheWorld and #NCHerstory.

Unfortunately, Susi won’t be able to present at NCACPA’s 2019 Professional Women’s Conference. Instead, she recorded a speech which we will show at the start of the conference. (You can still register here!)
