Description

When you first hear the term International Accounting you may instantly think about IFRS. However, that is just a small part of International Accounting. In today’s marketplace almost everyone is an international accountant involved in some type of International Accounting. This course will walk you through the basic business activities of a multinational company, which can be as large as Coca-Cola or as small as a regional bicycle shop. You will explore foreign currency transactions, hedges and hedge accounting, translations of financial statements, foreign direct investments, and transfer pricing. The basic principles of these topics and more will be presented in a way to maybe make you realize that you are already an international accountant.

Objective

* Determine how to record sales to foreign customers * Explain how foreign currency transactions are recorded * Explain how to hedge foreign exchange risks * Identify the characteristics of a derivative and describe types of derivatives * Determine how to translate foreign financial statements * Explain issues surrounding international transfer pricing
