This course focuses on the historical perspective of African Americans in the accounting profession starting from 1921 to current day. The course will cover the historic and systemic barriers to entry, the accounting profession’s response, and current approaches to diversity in the profession. In addition, the course will highlight selected individuals that were instrumental in advancing African Americans in the profession.
