7 Tips to Know about Paying for College

Hear from the College Foundation of North Carolina’s (CFNC) Amy Denton, with information about the financial process of paying for college. She will share tools and tips from CFNC as she walks through the steps of saving, applying, and paying for college.

Amy Denton – As the College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) Regional Representative for Eastern/Northeastern North Carolina (the 252 area code region), Amy works closely with over 100 community partners, including public and private K-12 schools, colleges and universities, NC 529 clients, and other organizations to promote career and college access. CFNC affords me the opportunity to share resources on how to plan, apply, pay, and save for college with families who seek options. Amy joined the College Foundation, Inc. team in 2007 after spending 11 years at Barton College in the Office of Admissions, the latter eight years as Director of Admissions. It was there that she quickly developed a passion for higher education and helping students realize their dream of college and/or pathway to their career journey.

Amy is actively involved in North Carolina’s admissions association, CACRAO (The Carolinas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers), and our statewide financial aid association, NCASFAA (North Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators). Amy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Barton in 1994 where she currently serves as the Alumni Board President.
