Advising Widows

Zoom

Description

Join NCACPA’s Financial Planning Network and Megan Kopka, CFP®, RLP® on Tuesday, July 22 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm via Zoom for a powerful (non-CPE) webinar as she shares practical and compassionate strategies for advising widows. Combining financial expertise with deep insight into grief, Megan will guide advisors through the emotional and technical challenges widows face – estate planning and utility transitions to credit freezes, social media accounts, and tax strategies.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Build confidence to advise and guide a widow’s acute, near-, and long-term stages of widowhood.
  • Communicate with empathy, recognizing grief’s impact on identity and decision-making.
  • Offer meaningful support beyond probate, with tools like three-way calls, checklists, follow-ups and resources.
  • Recognize cognitive and emotional shifts that influence financial resilience.

This session highlights the importance and the need to serve widows well – with skill and care.
