North Carolina CPA Foundation Scholarships
In 2008, the Foundation’s annual merit
scholarship program received a total of 125
applications from students at 28 North Carolina
colleges, universities, and community colleges.
Thanks to our members’ generous contributions,
this year the Foundation was able to award 44
scholarships totaling $55,000 to very deserving
students.
The awards range from $1,000 to $5,000. In
addition, all qualified applicants were offered
a complimentary one-year NCACPA
membership. Applications are available online
from December 1 to February 10.
NCACPA has partnered with one of its most popular
educational speakers, James L. McCoy, CPA, to award a scholarship benefiting
deserving North Carolina accounting students who have
demonstrated academic achievement and financial need. Each
year NCACPA donates proceeds from at
least one of Jim McCoy’s educational seminars to
the fund. The endowment fund is administered by the North Carolina CPA
Foundation. McCoy Fund recipients are selected
from eligible applicants for the Foundation scholarships. To find out more, contact NCACPA
at (800) 722-2836.
