Look no further. Below is a listing of NCACPA, AICPA, and other organizations’ scholarships
that can help you on your way. Remember to
contact your college financial aid office for
other potential sources of financial aid.
North Carolina CPA Foundation Scholarships
In 2009, the North Carolina CPA Foundation’s
annual merit scholarship program received a
total of 130 applications from students at 38
North Carolina colleges, universities, and
community colleges. Thanks to our members’
generous contributions, this year the Foundation
was able to award 58 scholarships totaling
$68,000 to very deserving
students. Additionally, there were 13
awards totaling $13,000 made from the
James L. McCoy Accounting Scholarship Endowment
Fund.
The awards range from $1,000 to $5,000. In
addition, all qualified applicants were offered
a complimentary one-year NCACPA
membership. Applications are available online
from December 1 to February 10. To find out more, contact NCACPA

Outstanding
Minority Accounting Student Scholarship
The North Carolina Association of CPAs, through
the North Carolina CPA Foundation and the
Minority Issues Committee, recognizes the
extraordinary achievement, leadership, and
talent of the state's top minority accounting
students each year. This competitive,
merit-based scholarship is designed to reward
minority accounting students for their
achievements both inside and outside the
classroom and to support them on their way to a
career in accounting. Please contact the

Scholarships
Liberal arts students wishing to pursue
graduate accounting study can receive financial
aid through the AICPA John L. Carey Scholarships
Program. Scholarships are available to all
liberal arts degree holders of any
regionally-accredited U.S. institution who wish
to pursue a CPA certificate. For more

AICPA Minority Accounting
Scholarships
AICPA offers a Minority
Scholarships Program that supports minority
accounting students at the undergraduate and
several specific graduate level programs.
