GAGAS Requirements for Continuing Professional Education G
Members engaged in GAGAS engagements must comply with GAO “Yellow Book” continuing professional education requirements (CPE). CPAs performing GAGAS engagements must complete 80 hours of acceptable CPE every two years. Twenty-four of those hours must be in governmental accounting and auditing topics.

Courses that satisfy the Yellow Book requirement are identified in all of NCACPA’s promotional materials by G. The vendor has identified this course as satisfying the 80-hour requirement for Yellow Book. It is up to the individual to determine if this course meets the 24-hour yellow book requirement. This is not an all-inclusive list, as the professional must determine if other courses will enhance their ability to perform GAGAS engagements. The complete CPE guidance document is available on GAO's website at http://www.gao.gov/%20govaud/ybk01.htm%20<http://www.gao.gov/%20govaud/ybk01.htm.
