Tax Filing Deadline: The North Carolina Department of Revenue confirmed the state filing deadline for income tax returns is Tuesday, April 17, 2007. This change conforms to the IRS, who changed their filing deadline to the 17^th due to the Emancipation Day celebration in Washington, DC, on April 16^th. (Tax Filing Deadlines by State)

2007 Nominating Committee Report: The NCACPA Nominating Committee is pleased to report the following professionals have agreed to serve on the association’s board of directors. The slate of officers and directors will be voted upon during the Annual Business Meeting on May 2, 2007.

The Nominating Committee selected John R. Morgan, CPA, JD, to serve as the 2007-08 Chair-Elect and Robert A. Colwell, CPA, to serve as Treasurer for 2007-09. Directors with terms beginning May 2007 and expiring April 2010 are:

2007 Annual Business Meeting: The membership is cordially invited to attend the 2007 Member Recognition Dinner and Annual Business Meeting. The events will be held on Wednesday evening, May 2, 2007, at the Grandover Resort & Conference Center in Greensboro. There is no registration fee, but members are requested to notify the association of their plans to attend so sufficient seating can be provided. Members planning to attend should email Jackie Asekhauno at jasekhauno@ncacpa.org.

Outstanding Member Awards: There is still time to nominate someone for outstanding achievement in his or her field. The association annually recognizes members for their outstanding service in education, government, business and industry, public service, and service to the association. Please log on to the association’s website and download the appropriate form(s). It is easy and will mean a great deal to the professional you nominate. It is important for the association and members to celebrate outstanding achievement. The award winners will be recognized during the Member Recognition Dinner on May 2, 2007.
