Peer Review Committee

Responsible for the final disposition of reviews performed in North Carolina. Members of this committee must qualify to be team captains in the AICPA Peer Review Program. In addition, members of this committee must possess experience in the technical review process of reviewing team captain reports, letters of comment and letters of response.

Administer Peer Review Program according to AICPA Standards.
 
Follow administration procedures as set forth by AICPA.
Education & Communication Sub-Committee. Enhance communication between the Peer Review Committee, AICPA Peer Review Board, NCACPA Board of Directors, peer reviewers, technical reviewers, enrolled firms, North Carolina State Board of CPA Examiners, and the general public.
Standards & Handbook Monitoring Sub-Committee and the Education & Communication Sub-Committee.

 
Monitor national level peer review proposals and changes.
Oversight and Complaint Resolution Sub-Committee. Ensure North Carolina follows AICPA oversight guidelines and to address specific complaints written to the Peer Review Committee.
Remain up-to-date regarding AICPA peer review information. Attend national AICPA Peer Review Conference (which includes special sessions for committee members); registration fee approximately $350 per person.
