Accounting Education Committee

Supports the development of basic accounting education and research. Attempts to improve the basic accounting education level of persons entering the profession. Plans an Annual Accounting Education Forum and a fall recruiting day for college seniors. Assists in selecting winners for NC CPA Foundation Scholarships.

Assistance for Educators and Students for the Revised Exam

With the implementation of the computerized Uniform CPA Examination six months away,
many educators have asked for guidance on preparing students to take the revised CPA Exam.
The AICPA/AAA Education Task Force has been working to help educators address this issue.

Plan a conference directed toward accounting educators in NC for October. Identify topics and speakers, make initial speaker contacts.
To foster communication and integration process among all groups in the accounting profession; To encourage and enhance student recruitment. Host an on-campus recruitment day.
 
To foster communication and integration process among all groups in the accounting profession; To encourage and enhance participation by non-CPA accounting faculty. Develop a contact listing of accounting faculty at North Carolina community colleges, and North Carolina colleges and universities.
To support the continued development of top accounting students. Assist NC CPA Foundation in selecting scholarship winners.
To support quality education in the CPA profession. Make recommendations for the Outstanding Educators Award.
