2008–09 Action Plan

Strategy:     Action:
To increase member's general awareness of recent accounting and attestation rule changes and support their efforts to maintain technical proficiency.   The members of the committee will draft and/or commission articles for publication in the Interim Report. We will also issue updates relating to important A&A issues as they arise via the Member Advantage fax broadcast.
To respond to periodic requests from members and interested parties for information and/or assistance.   The committee will maintain a TAP listing available on the Association web page. Committee members will respond or request that another committee member respond to periodic requests for information that are generated through the TAP and/or forwarded by staff and other sources.
To raise awareness of audit quality issues connected with ERISA audits and encourage NC firms to enroll.   The committee will promote enrollment in the AICPA's ERISA Audit Quality Center
Communicate with standard setters regarding technical issues and respond to exposure drafts issued by standard setting bodies.   Committee members will monitor the activities of the various standard setting bodies and develop responses to exposure drafts or other issues which will be reviewed and issued by the NCACPA Board of Directors as the official NCACPA response.
Provide guidance and information to the Professional Development Committee on A&A offerings for the upcoming CPE year.   Committee members will attend the annual fall Professional Development Committee meeting to assist with A&A course selections.
