The 4-1-1
According to its website, over 500 million active users and more than 700,000 local businesses utilize the social networking site. Perhaps more surprising is the dominant age group making use of the tool. The largest and fastest growing segment on Facebook is adults 55 years and older!
How Does NCACPA Use Facebook?
There are several ways NCACPA is utilizing Facebook. You can become a fan of NCACPA and join our group. We’d love to have you! More specifically, the Financial Literacy Council has a group, as does the Young CPA Cabinet. Searching for “NCACPA” will bring up our fan page. Simply search for “NCACPA,” “NCACPA Financial Literacy,” or “NCACPA Young CPAs” to join any of the groups.
The Bird’s the Word
Twitter is the newer kid on the block, but it’s quickly making its presence known with 175 million registered users. According to its website, over 95 million tweets—small bursts of information—are written per day. Twitter’s biggest growing segment is ages 35–54. Businesses are gravitating to Twitter in droves as an outlet to quickly share updates and news about their organization or profession—in 140 characters or less, of course.
What if I’d rather Tweet with the Association?
If Twitter is more your style, we’ve got something for you there too! Follow “NCACPAnews” for the latest updates on events, profession and association-related news, and member tidbits. You can also follow NCACPA’s Young CPA Cabinet by searching “ncyoungcpas.”
What It’s All About
The association is also utilizing the social media tool known as LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a business-oriented site mainly used for professional networking. According to the official website, LinkedIn has over 85 million members in more than 200 countries. The site also boasts executives from all Fortune 500 companies as members. LinkedIn's mission is to help users expand their professional networks. The goal is to connect the world's professionals in an effort to make them more productive.
