Answers:
Q:
I have a comment/question/idea about my chapter. Who
do I call?
A: Your chapter president is the best person
to contact. He/she oversees all of your chapter’s
operations. You can find this contact information on
your
chapter’s webpage. Or, you can email
chapters@ncacpa.org and your comments will be
forwarded.

Q:
I’m interested in getting more involved my chapter.
Where should I start?
A: A great place to start is one of your
chapter’s networking events. If it’s the first time
you’ve attended a chapter event, let the people at
the registration table know. They’ll see to it
you’re introduced to several members as well as
chapter officers, who can provide more information
about your chapter and upcoming activities.

Q: Who
is on my chapter board?
A: A list of your chapter board members and
officers is on your
chapter’s home page.

Q:
What if I am interested in attending a chapter board
meeting?
A: Members are always welcome to attend
chapter board meetings. Call your chapter president
to find out when the next meeting will be, what the
agenda items for that meeting are, and add any
agenda items you would like discussed.

Q:
How do I become part of a chapter board?
A: Call your chapter president or any board
member. You can also email inquiries about possible
openings to
chapters@ncacpa.org.

Q:
How do I find out when my chapter is meeting?
A: On the main chapter web page, there is a
chapter calendar listing the events that chapter
boards planned at their annual planning meetings.
Most of these events are still in the process of
being planned. Specific topics, times, locations,
speakers, and agendas need yet to be determined, so
the calendar is tentative. Some events may be
rescheduled, reorganized, or cancelled. You will
also find a copy of this tentative schedule in the
CPE Outlook, and Source.
Every month, chapter events are added to the Outlook
online as plans are finalized. As a chapter member,
you’ll receive a monthly electronic newsletter with
links that take you directly to the events that your
chapter has organized for the next month. Then,
closer to the event, you’ll receive an email
reminder. We encourage you to sign up as soon as the
first email is sent. If there are not enough
registrants early on, we may have to cancel the
event.

Q. Can I
register onsite?
A: While we realize that you can’t always
plan in advance, we may not always be able to accept
walk-in registrations. Depending on physical space
and course material availability, this just may not
be an option. The onsite program administrator will
be able to provide you with the latest registration
information. We do ask that you register well in
advance whenever possible.

How can I update my contact information?
A: Call or email Member Services to have your
chapter membership moved. You can update your
contact information in the Members Only section of
our webpage, www.ncacpa.org. Include both your
company and home information. Let us know if you

password?
A: NCACPA members:
-

Q:
After I have submitted payment for event fees, how
will I be notified when my registration is
confirmed?
A: Our goal is to ensure you receive a prompt
confirmation notification. The secure, online
registration system automatically generates an email
confirmation reply, which can be printed to expedite
the onsite check-in process. In an effort to
increase our efficiencies and provide a more
reliable response to registrants, all previously
faxed confirmations will be replaced with email,
regardless of the method of payment. Should you not
have access to email, or should you not receive an
email confirmation within one week of registering
for an event, please contact the NCACPA Member
Service Center staff. We will then individually fax
or mail you a confirmation.

Q.
What if it’s snowing the day of a chapter meeting?
A: While we rarely cancel programs, inclement
weather may make cancellations unavoidable. Our
primary concern is the safety of our attendees,
instructors, and staff. If inclement weather causes
us to cancel we will attempt to notify you as soon
as possible. As you know, inclement weather can
strike quickly and may prevent us from making
contact with participants. If you have any questions
about the status of a particular program, please
call our Event Information Line at (800) 722-2836,
Ext. 122, for a recorded message. This line is
available 24 hours a day and is regularly updated
with any changes to our regular program schedule,
including any and all cancellations.

Q.
I’m a vegetarian. Can you accommodate me?
A: While most of our facilities provide
excellent food for our events, please remember that
accommodating each individual meal preference would
be impossible. If you have a specific dietary need
(vegetarian, kosher, etc.), please contact the
professional staff in our Member Service Center well
in advance of the event. This will enable us to make
arrangements with the meeting room facility to
accommodate your need. To ensure you receive the
proper meal, please mention your request to the wait
staff.

Q:
How should I dress for a chapter meeting?
A: Recommended dress code for most chapter events is
business casual. Exceptions to this rule of thumb
are golf tournaments, picnics, or any more relaxed
social event, where more casual dress is
appropriate, and dinner meetings, when business
attire is appropriate.
Examples: For our purpose, the following definitions
will apply:
Men
Business Attire: jacket and tie
Business Casual: casual pants, polo shirt, and
comfortable shoes (no sneakers)
Casual Attire: casual pants, casual shorts, polo
shirt, and comfortable shoes (sneakers okay)
Women
Business Attire: suit, dress, skirt/blouse, or
pantsuit
Business Casual: casual pants or skirts; tailored
shirts or blouses; tailored knit sweaters and
sweaters sets; and comfortable shoes (no sneakers)
Casual Attire: casual pants, casual shorts, tailored
or knit shirts or blouses; tailored knit sweaters
and sweaters sets; and comfortable shoes (sneakers
okay)
For your comfort, we suggest dressing in layers to
accommodate typical variations in meeting room
temperatures.
